Korean steel mills raise scrap purchasing prices

Reportedly, the major steel mills in Korea have hiked the scrap purchasing prices recently.

It's learned that Hyundai Steel increased scrap purchasing prices by 10,000 won/ton at its Pohang works. Also, Dongkuk Steel raised the scrap purchasing prices by KRW10, 000/ton at Pohang plants as well.

Besides, Posco P&S increased its scrap purchasing prices by KRW10, 000~KRW15, 000 won/ton at its Gwangyang works.

It's analyzed that the Korean steel mills have increased scrap purchasing prices due to decreased stocks.
